August 31st 2009 is a day that will go down in New York Stock Exchange history – Disney announced that they’d bought Marvel for $4bn. More importantly for bad movie fans, this news came minutes before the Toxic Avenger rang the opening bell to begin the day’s trading.

New Jersey’s first superhero and bad movie icon, the Toxic Avenger, opened the New York Stock Exchange today. Geeks eyes the world over were pointed at the NYSE anyway since Disney had announced the acquisition of Marvel only minutes before Toxie opened the day’s trading.

The Toxic Avenger appeared with the rest of the cast of “The Toxic Avenger Musical” which is currently receiving plaudits from audiences and critics alike.
